Doesn't have to be rap, just any genre

Ill say Thriller is just because of these songs:

Billie Jean
Beat It
Human Nature
The Lady in My Life
The Girl is Mine
Wanna Be Startin Somethin'
P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)

I think Purple Rain was better than Thriller personally. I dont euqate sales to great music. I think Whats Going On by Marvin Gaye is the greatest peice of music created followed by Are You Experienced? by Jimi Hendrix.

Im not equating great sales to great music, thats not me. I personally believe 2Pacalypse Now is a greater album compared to All Eyez On Me.. Obviously 2Pacalypse sold far less.. I just believe the way Michael managed to break from the usual dance/disco music seen at that time but still manage to make people dance to his music rather than have his music suit the current dance was amazing. The melodies heard on that album were nothing ever heard before that album.

Agree to disagree on this. I really think Thriller is overrated in my opinion. As far as what changed music, I dont think it did that. I could put so many albums above Thriller like Hotel California or Nevermind by Nirvana. I guess I just never was a big fan of MJ and Thriller, I always prefered Prince.

Bob Marley "Exodus" the album.

I co sign on that have to agree with shawn and tific as well, thriller and purple rain 2 of the hottest albums ever made, but exodus was just unbelievable and full of emotion, angry at 1 point, chilled out the next, just a real classic

I remember the Beatles had something going... But since I stick to rap... I gotta say the album I bumped most, is The Game - Documentary, followed closely by Pac's Better Dayz and All Eyez On Me.

haha new this dude couldn't resist putting marshal mathers dumb ass into this conversation. That's a joke and you know it. It would be like me saying Hunger For More or Carter 2. I'll say either Illmatic or Me Against The World. Straight Outta Compton maybe too. Also distant relatives depending on your taste in music.
