    Default Exodus 18:31

Was thinking about this today. The tattoo of the cross on Tupac's back had 'Exodus 18:31' enscribed on the inside of it.
I have read 2 possible explanations on various Tupac fan site for what this tattoo is a reference to

Firstly, is it a reference to the bible verse Exodus 18:31
"Now I know that the LORD is greater than all other gods, for he did this to those who had treated Israel arrogantly."

or secondly, and the one I believe, it is a reference to Nat Turners Slave Revolt in August, 1831 resulting in the death of 56 people

Which do you think it is? Or is it neither?

It was a reference to the Nat Turner Slave Revolt.

The biggest indicator of that is the lack of a colon between the numbers.

People congratulate me, I just tell 'em: God is good.

it obviously has a cross on it which refers to Christianity , so it would most likely refer to the bible verse u pointed out.

but the verse goes a little something like this ...

"Now I know That the Lord is Greater Than All Gods because he delivered the people from the hands of the Egyptians when they dealt with them arrogantly."

i don't know why yours is different.

Respect alive believers...as some may not hold the proof to their beliefs , but you too do not hold the proof that their beliefs are of the imagination.

You are incorrect , it has nothing to do with Nat Turner's slave rebellion? why would that be so important to pac to tattoo it on cross anyway...

its clearly from bible, EXODUS, note: EXODUS 1831
"Now I know That the Lord is Greater Than All Gods."
    Perfectly matches Tupacs character.

^ Why would he leave out the colon?

The colon makes Exodus 18:31, a Bible verse.

^ The definition of the word Exodus:
"A journey by a large group to escape from a hostile environment."

Which explains why he would've used that word in conjunction with the slave revolt of 1831.

The Nat Turner Slave Revolt has gone down in history as the "Exodus 1831". It refers to Nat Turner fighting back against the oppression of his white master. Turner and other slaves went from house to house freeing slaves and killing their white oppressors. Its more than reasonable to assume that Tupac could find affinity with this story
