Default I know we're all Pac fans but.....

What are something(s) that other Pac fans can say or do that annoy the you?

Like to me, it is when people be like if Tupac was still rapping today (insert any modern rapper regardless dope or not) would be working at McDonald's; also when people get butthurt and can't handle constructive criticism when it comes to Pac.

i don't like when people say he wasn't lyrical or he wasn't as skilled as others
it's my opinion i can say he was skilled as others such as a jay-z nas or notorious big.
    i refuse to conform

also i don't like when stupid pac fans say shit that is not true like pac was a blood or m.o.b stood for some blood gang when that is not what pac stood for.

When it comes to Pac being lyrical its like this to me...when he WANTED to be he went hard as hell but usually that wasn't his main focus when writing lol, but everyone got different styles though when it comes to rapping haha

If by "lyrical" you mean using metaphors and stuff, I totally believe Pac could pull it off if he'd wanted to... It's just that he decided to go straight-forward with his songs.

Davey D: You lived In Marin City for a little while. How was your connection with hip hop able to be maintained while living there? Was there a thriving hip hop scene in Marin City?

2Pac: Not really..You were just given truth to the music. Being in Marin City was like a small town so it taught me to be more straight forward with my style. Instead of of being so metaphorical with the rhyme where i might say something like...
    I'm the hysterical, lyrical miracle
    I'm the hypothetical, incredible....

I was encouraged to go straight at it and hit it dead on and not waste time trying to cover things...

    Davey D:Why was that?

2Pac: In Marin City it seemed like things were real country. Everything was straight forward. Poverty was straight forward. There was no way to say I'm poor, but to say 'I'm po'...we had no money and that's what influenced my style.

Notice the difference between this song and the ones from 2Pacalypse & S4MN.

You've all got your own opinions on what makes a good emcee...
    It's an opinionated thing really.

You want to be dope, right? You want to garner some so-called "respect" with your text and audio drops...right?

Do you want to be taken seriously as an artist and not just a "textcee"?

Well, this type of thing doesn't happen overnight...yeah that sounds cliche, but it seems like people seem to forget that.

    RULE NUMBER ONE

Now, I'm not going to give you a list of a million definitions out of the dictionary and expect that it's going to help you become a better "rapper".
If you're writing lyrics, then you should already know what a noun is, you should sure as hell know what metaphors and similes are, and you better be damn sure that you can count bars...textcee or audio,

    LEARN TO COUNT YOUR BARS!

I dont mean bars as in two lines of text...
I mean bars as in the numeric musical measure for your "raps".

I'll break it down like this...
Every piece of music you've ever heard in your entire life, is composed of bars,
They are the foundation of rhythm and music in itself...and are VERY important.

The most-common (nearly every song) format for a hip-hop song is to have 16 bar verses, and 8 bar hooks.

Verses...are the actual "rapping" in a song...They are usually 16 bars. There are normally three in a song but sometimes more and sometimes less..

Hooks, are the "chorus" in a song...it is the space between verses, and is almost ALWAYS 8-bars long.

When you listen to a hip-hop beat, the typical drum beat is...

    Kick-Snare-Kick-Snare.

Every time you hear a snare drum twice, you've listened to a bar. (Snare=hi-tone drum, sounds like a clap)

    So therefore...

    Kick-Snare-kick-snare
    Kick-snare-kick-snare.

    is two bars long.

It's not that complicated once you break it down...it may seem confusing...so if you're still lost...

imagine youre listening to your favorite instrumental, or better yet, put on your favorite instrumental...listen to the drums, see if you can count the bars.
    Use this as a guideline...and just remember...kick-snare-kick-snare.

Once you've learned to count your bars in rhythmic time...you're ready to make ANY kind of music, not just hip-hop...now let's move on.

    RULE NUMBER TWO

Now that you've learned how to keep a steady beat, simply by counting bars...you're ready to increase your flow's direct impact.

    KEEP YOUR FLOW ON POINT!

So...remember how we were talking about kicks and snares?
Well...in a rap song, those are your best friend when writing a rap.
Basically, you want the syllables in YOUR bars (not the beat's bars)
To compliment and bounce off of the drums in the beat.
It sounds harder than it really is...

Basically, your bars should end on the last snare of each bar in the beat, (stay with me now)

This is the main way to keep your flow on point...if you're just starting off, then it's going to be a little bland and boring, because you're not used to riding a beat...
Just remember, the last word in your bar should "hit" just as much as the snare drum, at almost the same time.

    For example...

    Kick...Snare...Kick...Snare - 1 bar

I've been going crazy, smokin' daiy, chokin' babies. - 1 bar

See the way that the drums comply with the words?

Well...basically just do that in your song...
Even if you're not an audio head...you should STILL have some type of beat or at least a tempo (pace) in your mind to base your lyrics off of.
This is the main reason most textcees have no flow in their shit..because they dont rap to a steady pace/nor beat...

I'm not saying you have to put a beat on every time you write your text shitt,
just make sure to keep a consistent rhythm...
The whole idea of music is that it's good to listen to because it keeps a good beat and rhythm...without that...you're just rhyming words with no structural foundation.

Well...I'll finish this sometime later...it's a lot to type.
But if this tutorial helped you at all, which it SHOULD have...then good for you, stay tuned and I might just show you how to write a decent hook and compose your own melodies.
But like I said...you gotta walk before you run...
    Stay up

On facebook me or elion would post an artist saying something about pac, for example 'drake praises 2pac'

And you'd have so many pac fans comment saying fuck drake he's wack, hes illuminati or shit like that.

It baffles me because there are so many uneducated human beings in the world that think like that. No common sense
