ALL EYEZ ON ME" review thread (SPOILERS)

First of all demetrius did a good job! its the script and story telling that was bad.

Im really sorry that i feel this way, but thats how viewed it

1.
The first half of the movie was.. messy as hell.
They showed to many dates and places. it got messy, alot of thing that werent necessary.

They showed all the big points in the movie but without nuance..meaning: the movie didnt flow for the FIRST HOUR. it felt like a wikipedia page.
after it came to death row, it got better. because they FINALLY got to a focus point.

2.
the character didnt built up enough,they shouldve showed more of pacs persona then showing all the highs and lows.

Benny boom is a sloppy director and it shows.
It was just not a good movie

3.
cinematographically wise, it was at a low point.

I think if I went knowing I wasn't going to learn anything new/see things from a new perspective then I wouldn't be so critical of it. Musically it was still very enjoyable and nostalgic and any real hip hop head will value that alone.
It's no Straight Outta Compton or even Notorious but it will make you miss Pac and the enigmatic talent that he was."

So thats it, this is just my opinion, my review. Not everybody can be satisfied
But long time Pac fans will be hardest to please.

Kinda saw this coming,I haven't seen the movie yet,nor will I be able to watch it any time soon.

I've always felt like Tupac's story was too complicated to be contained in a movie,and you can't take shortcuts with it because of that complication,and because thhere were too many turning points in his life.

Hope people enjoy it anyway.

A really bad sign is they didn't let Rotten Tomatoes put reviews up before it was released, I'm still going to watch it, but it sadly looks like they didn't pull the film off. What the fuck were they thinking letting a music director produce it?

D. Shipp did an amazing job.

I can't imagine another actor doing better than he did. His voice was far better than anticipated and his mannerisms were on point.

It's so crazy that he looked WORST in the trailers than in the movie, it's usually the other way around.

As far as the movie, as huge 'Pac fans it's impossible for us to really enjoy a biopic because we know so much. If you were unfamiliar with 'Pac before you watched this movie then I would be satisfied.

They hit different aspects of his life and personality, they didn't paint him an angel, but they also didn't dive very deep. For instance, Leila Steinberg was basically a 5 second montage.

Overall I enjoyed watching 'Pac get the big screen treatment if only for D. Shipp's performance.

-Snoop dubbing his own voice in the movie

-Pac performing hail mary.. which i though was cool.

-the song pac was listening to in his last ride in vegas.



overall some scenes were good on their own but the movie failed to string everything together.



jada was hurt by her portrayal

im telling you, fuck the script writers, ive seen them,theyre 2 buffoons
cant believe they allowed for this horrible script to be made..
they rushed it, no two ways about it. they didnt wanne lose the rights for the movie.
PLUS afeni didnt even see to approve the movie. and i believe she didnt approve the scripts aswell.
ps singleton wouldve been awful aswell i heard part of his script

I think the song Pac was listening to was real, Suge was talked to before the film was made, also Pac was known for listening to all types of music, bodyguards said he would be interested in what they played i their cars.
